How to Load Paint Roller?
Aug. 16, 2016Loading a paint rollerproperly will prevent spattering and matting of the paint surface. Instead of using a cheap plastic paint tray, invest in a 5 gallon (18.9 L) bucket and a roller grid for a more even paint application.
Pour the desired amount of paint into a 5 gallon (18.9 L) bucket.
Insert the roller grid into the bucket. Hang the clips over the side of the bucket to attach the grid to the bucket.
Load the roller sleeve onto the roller frame.
Dip the roller sleeve into the paint while holding the handle of the roller frame. Do not completely saturate the roller with paint so that you can avoid spills and drips.
Roll the sleeve over the grid to evenly distribute the paint and to eliminate drips. If you are using a new roller, dip the roller sleeve into the paint and roll the sleeve over the grid multiple times to ensure good coverage.
